WHAT IS PEOPLE MEDIA AND INFORMATION?

 

People media consists of people who comminucate certain information towards an audience, and those who appear in different kinds of media such as TV, radio, and print media for the same purpose.

 

REFLECTION:

 

People media and information are the most basic kind of media, but not the least. Even without advances in technology, they will continue to exist, and transfer information and knowledge from one to another. As long as humankind continues to exist, there will be people media and I believe that they are an integral part of Media and Information Literacy.

 

People in media hold a great responsibility because they cater to a bigger audience through the different media they are channeled through. They should have not only the necessary expertise in the field that they are specializing in, but also skill for proper communication. People as media are not exempted from these responsibilities. They should also be responsible as well as have the proper knowledge and passion for their craft because they have a direct impact on the learners.

 

I agree that People Media is an important part of our Media Resources. However, I do not believe that they are the most important one. While media cannot exist without people since they have come into being because of human intelligence and need, I believe that all kinds of media are equally important because different kinds of situations call for different kinds of approach.
