WHAT IS TEXT MEDIA AND INFORMATION?
Text media are either printed or digital text material that are published for the purpose of communicating information to an audience.
REFLECTION:
Considering the many indigenous, ethnic, tribal, and people groups in the Philippines, not to mention the other languages such as “jejemon,” “konyo,” taglish, etc. make written communication challenging. Text media and information provide a baseline to make dissemination more accurate and more efficient and much faster to keep up with the trend. Text media and information is also important in data gathering and preserving / documenting written oral works, and language translation.Text media and information lowers the risk of error since the material can be reviewed before release.
Criteria for Consideration of Text-based Media and Information for the Integration Into the Lesson:
The material should (1) contain activities to prepare the learner, (2) be developmentally appropriate to the target reader/learner, (3) provide room for reflection, feedback, and evaluation, and (4) regard ethnicity. The target reader/learner should have (1) readiness to learn, and (2) competency in literacy and tech use. The teacher should have (1) a firm grasp of the material, (2) proficiency, (3) the ability to translate learning to different learners, and (4) passion that this approach is beneficial to learning experience.
Areas of Specialization Where Text Media and Information Can Be Used:
(1) Information dissemination, (2) Forms, (3) Formal correspondence, letters, writings, (4) Opinion, and (5) Research and data gathering.
